Three independent programs make up the WINDOX 5 server administration
The privilege to execute one of the three programs can be given to different individuals, for example, the system or network administrator, the laboratory manager, and the owner of the software. This forms a perfect system of balanced administrational power, well suited to the needs of quality-controlled enviroments, e.g. in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Databases are published (made accessible by client programs) with one of the properties
full access: insertion, deletion, and modification admitted,
read-only: write access blocked
FDA: 21 CFR 11 compliant operation; deletion blocked, "harmless" modifications admitted and logged in an audit trail
The database access properties are valid for every user of the database and persist even if a database is moved to another location. This (in combination with the MS Windows user privileges and the WINDOX 5 specific user rigths) provides the best possible protection against inadvertent loss of or illegal access to the data.
A WINDOX 5 user is identified by the MS WindowsTM logon. The access rights to the WINDOX database can be individually defined for every user. Typical sets of privileges for "operator", "developer", or " reviewer" can be assigned by one click. |
