Ultra flexible wet dispersion for disperse systems in open or closed loops
Due to its open and modular design LIXELL represents together with the image analyser QICPIC the most versatile measuring system over a particle size range of 1 µm to 2,000 µm. With different models of cuvettes and accessory parts numerous applications starting at a sample volume of 20 ml can be realised. Depending on the set-up LIXELL can be operated in flow-through or circulation mode. Chemically resistant sealing and tubing materials are available for aggressive media.
LIXELL is a very flexible wet dispersion system which can easily be adapted to nearly all types of applications. Its basic construction comprises an open loop flow cell with inlet and outlet connector. Cuvettes with different optical path lengths are available. They can be easily exchanged, while the used cuvette type is automatically identified by wireless RFID technology.
The cuvette position is controlled along the optical axis by software at high precision. For image analysis this function is used as auto-focus on the measured particles, i.e. the software ensures, that the particles are always imaged at the maximum sharpness. The cuvette is designed to operate at up to 3 bar and up to 80°C.
Inlet and outlet hoses are led through the LIXELL front cover and thus enable a horizontal hose routing towards the main wet dosing unit LIQXI. In this way, segregation of particles within the pumped sample circuit is reduced to a minimum. Depending on the application the user may provide other dosing units, a pump, a manually operated syringe (for sample volumes down to 20 ml), an external basin, a sonication stage, a fill or a drain container.
A six pin Lemosa plug is provided at the rear side of the system for power supply (24V DC | 5.0 W max.) and RS485 control. This power and data connection including a further Lemosa connector is looped through to the LIXELL front side, e.g. for a comfortable short way connection of LIQXI. In order to tailor the chemical resistance to the dispersing liquid, different materials are available for tubes and gaskets (Marprene®, Tygon®, EPDM, NBR, FKM or FFKM). LIXELL can be used with all members of the QICPIC family. The suspension flow cell of LIXELL is also part of our on-line image analysis with PICCELL for industrial applications.
