Micro dosing system for smallest amounts of dry active also toxic substances in encapsulated sample vials
If only small quantities of valuable products or toxic material from a few to 1,000 micrograms are to be analysed, the micro-dosing device ASPIROS can be applied. ASPIROS is mounted instead of the RODOS funnel and can be used in HELOS or as ASPIROS/L version also in QICPIC applications.
The encapsulated sample vial is prepared and filled with a few micrograms in a glove box or a fume cabinet. The sealed glass tube is inserted into ASPIROS. The optional unit's bar code reader identifies the sample, automatically applies the correct dispersion settings and releases the sample into the RODOS injector for analysis. With a closed system, there is no contact between the product and the surrounding environment.
The front cover of ASPIROS can be opened manually for loading of the sample vial into the transporting sled. For security reasons the sensor operation is blocked until the cover is closed.
The sample vials with a volume of 650 µl can be used as disposable items. They contain from a few to about 1,000 micrograms of sample material and are capped with a PE cap for safe storage and transport. The uncapping is performed by the ASPIROS mechanics under software control.
